Larry Hamm over at Chelsea Lynn Designs on Artfire is a friend of many in the world of handmade, he is also the voice of The Crazy Train on Blockhead Radio. Larry has a fantastic wife Janet, and an 8 year old son Jacob who live with him in Lansing, NC deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Larry is a friend to everyone and just an all around swell guy. He is most definitely the “shirt off your back” kind of friend. Right now, all of Larry’s friends and Blockhead radio are teaming up to help him out in a tough time.
Larry is a disabled diabetic who currently has lost his health insurance. His medication alone monthly is over $2,000. Larry is not receiving disability, he has not been approved yet. His wife is the only source of income and she doesn’t make enough to cover his medications. Larry’s doctors have given him an outlook of only 18 months to live if he doesn’t receive a $17,000 gastric bypass surgery as soon as possible. Larry and his family need all the help from their family and friends they can get! Jacob and Janet need Larry to hang around here with them as long as he possibly can! All of his friends surely want Larry to stick around too!All of us at Blockhead Radio are gearing up for the biggest Radiothon you’ll ever be a part of! July 24th at 6pm until July 26th at 6pm, Blockhead Rod will be live on the radio for 48 hours straight raising money for our friend Larry. The Farmer's Market has Kicked Off!

The Farmer's Market kicked off on June 18th! I know I'm a bit late posting, but I've been super busy with making candles to keep up with the demand of the market! On Thursday Wayne and I both were very surprised by the turnout! People were coming by and picking up baked goods, produce and my soy candles! It was great to be out and meet some great local people! We took our full selection of candles, meaning holiday scents along with every other scent I have in stock! I'm glad that we took the holiday stuff along! We sold several holiday scented candles!!

Here's a picture of our banner that we bought from Vista Print! Wayne of course did the graphics for this AWESOME banner! I'm very proud that he's willing and capable of doing all the web and graphic stuff for me! I would be so lost without him!

It's been two weeks since the market started and we're still going strong! I'm amazed that after every market I come home and have to make more candles for the next market day! Wayne and I set a goal everyday and we normally triple that goal! I'm very happy with the positive feedback from my local customers! Everyone loved that I use soy wax and that I have a lot to choose from!

Farmers Market Starts Tomorrow!!

As Most of my pals know my Farmers Market starts tomorrow! I'm ready!! Candles have have been boxed up and are ready to go in the truck! You ask where's this market going to take place? The Front Royal VA Farmers Market will be held in the center of downtown near the gazebo. Check out http://www.downtownfrontroyal.org/events.html for all the info! We'll be there every Thursday 4-8pm and Saturdays 8-1pm.

After a lot of thought and work The Morning Brew Ha Ha Candle has made it to artfire! Blockhead Radio’s Morning Brew HaHa is hazelnut crème with a fun and exciting story! This candle is named after the morning show on www.blockheadradiolive.com. As a Co-host and supporter of BHR I wanted to add a new coffee candle to my candle line and give it a fun name! The reason I ask this question, I've got a new product that will be hitting my artfire store soon! After speaking with Rod and Witchy about this idea that I have we have come up with candle that will be named BHR's Morning Brew HaHa! The candle will be Hazelnut Creme scented and will be 3 different shades of brown and have a really cool custom label!

Good News For Skyline Candle Company!!

Two weeks ago Emily and I were out doing some window shopping in Downtown Front Royal where we live and I was lucky enough to walk into this really cool store called Valley Finds. This shop has all kinds of really cool stuff, anything from from antique furniture, dishes, arts and crafts and just about anything else you could think of.

Well as I was looking around in this shop I noticed she had hand-made soap on display. I've been getting into soap making so I had to look and see what she had! As I was looking the nice woman that owns the store and I were talking and I was telling her that I'm getting into soap making, but making candles is my passion! She then told me I'm looking for a local candle supplier! Talk about being very excited!

So I introduced myself and we started talking about my candle creations. She asked me when I could bring some samples so she could see what I had in stock. I told her that I would be more than happy to bring some candles. So the following day I went back down with several scents and styles for her to look at and she loved them! So the good news is Skyline Candle Company has candles in a local store in Front Royal VA! If your in the area stop by Valley Finds and tell Ms. Kathy Skyline Candle Company sent ya!!!
