I'm still here!

We are in the process of moving and have been since the 26th! I'm still selling candles and have been trying to check my email a few times a day! As soon as we get settled I'll be making more candles with several new styles and scent!! Stay Tuned!! :)

My Custom Orders

I have been very lucky this year with getting to do custom candle orders. I have done two weddings this year. Both weddings was for close friends and each one was a HUGE hit!!

The first wedding I did was for close friends Will & Carolina. Will & Carolina were married on July 12th in Kent Connecticut. Will and Carolina chose Spring Blossom (green) and Clean Cotton (white) for there scents.

My next order was for my best friend of 20 years. Dee Anna & Rob were married on November 1st in Nashville Tennessee. Dee Anna & Rob chose Autumn Afternoon (burnt orange) and Spiced Cider (brown) for there scents.

I love to make custom orders and will work with you to make sure you get exactly what you're looking for. I can make orders for any event!

For all of my friends that have recently joined the married club, congratulations and I'm glad that I was able to be a part of your special day.

My First Etsy Sale!

I made my first Etsy sale today! I'm so excited! I've sold over 500 candles this year, but nothing on etsy until today!!! I hope theres many more to come!! I'm still doing custom candle orders until Dec. 20th then I'll be taking a break until March 1st due to moving into a new house. I'll still have my 8 oz soy candles for sale.

I'll also be adding new scents in February and March! If anyone has a scent they are interested in please email me. I'm up for suggestions on new scents. That's how I got my Clean Cotton and Spring Blossom scents. I actually did those for a wedding.

Black Friday Sales!

So I didn't make any sales on Black Friday. I'm so sad I worked so hard advertising my new candles and nothing..... Hopefully Cyber Monday will bring some sales!!!

Busy day of making candles!

Today I make 9 candles! I made 7 Candy Cane and 2 Sugar Cookie. On a normal day I can make around 15 to 30, but when making the candy cane ones you have to wait for one layer to dry in order to get the candy stripes. This is very time consuming and it took almost all day to finish them. Of course my days aren't just spent making candles, I take care of my daughter and our boxer puppy Jax. Yes, I have my hands full!

First Skyline Candle Blog!

Welcome to my blog! I've been making and selling my candles for about a year now. I belong to the Cafe Mom Etsy Team and I have my own website. http://www.skylinecandle.com/ My name is Marie and I am married and have a wonderful daughter named Emily. I have always been interested in making candles and my husband bought me a candle making kit for my birthday a year ago. We both played with different ideas and I found that I was really good at making them.

Not long after I had been making candles and giving them out to friends, family and enjoying them in my own home my husband set me up a website to sell my new creations. In June on 2007 we found out that I was pregnant with our first child and I was no longer able to work my Monday-Friday job due to the morning sickness. I stayed at home and when I had enough energy I would make candles and do research about different products. Needless to say my candle making time became few and far between the further along into my pregnancy.

After I had Emily in February I took on my new task as a mommy and rarely ever made candles until she was about 2 months old. I had this urge to make candles and have a successful go at it. Now here we are in November and I have sold well over 500 candles this year. Ok that doesn't seem like a lot but for someone who does as a side business that's been only selling candles since May of this year that is really good!

I've done two weddings making their favors and both turned out to be a huge success for me and the two newly married couples. I love what I do and hope that I can continue to make this grow into a successful business that will keep me busy and make me some extra money!
